Looking unto Jesus and at nothing else. Hebrews 12:2 expresses it in the Greek word aphorao, which means to direct our gaze on Him and to turn it away from everything else.
This means that I am not to make the Lord Jesus a priority in my life. You know the list? God first, family second, friends next etc. But this is not the way He would have it. He must be all. He must be first, second, third and all the way down the count. He will not do as a priority. He must be preeminent not prominent. Some how I must find the way to stamp Christ image over everything I engage in and every thing that engages me.
…God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38
Can We Pray? How did you look dear Savior when you went from town to town doing good? In Tyre that city of sin; what grief was etched upon your face? In Samaria among the rejected; what look of welcome did you give to them? To the masses gathered upon the hillside; how did your face reflect the compassion of your heart for those who were as sheep without a shepherd? And in my day and over my actions and attitudes; how do you look? Lord let me transpose your face over my line of sight so that I may engage everything censored by your own holy countenance.
