Looking unto Jesus revealed by the Holy Spirit to find in constant communion with Him the cleansing of our sin-stained hearts, the illumination of our darkened spirits, the transformation of our rebellious wills. We are enabled by Him to triumph over all the attacks of the world and of the Evil One, resisting their violence through Jesus, our strength, and overcoming their subtlety by Jesus, our wisdom. We are upheld by the sympathy of Jesus, who was spared no temptation, and by the help of Jesus, who yielded to no temptation.
I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ! My triumph in Him is not passive. I get to play a part of this battle. I resist the devil’s violence. But I find my strength in the resistance amazingly comes as the Holy Spirit brings Christ’s own strength to me. I am mentally alert to the enemy’s sneaky, silent attacks but even here my wisdom is Jesus. He sympathizes with my weakness in the battle. He knows what I am going through. He went through it all Himself. And He is powerful enough to carry me through, if I’ll let Him, because He is the only one who faced down every temptation without sin.
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” I Corinthians 1:30
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” I Corinthians 2:14
Can We Pray? “Thank You God for the battle of life; even today when it seems to be overwhelming me. There is exhilaration in the conquest. Even here there is communion and comfort with my Captain Jesus. I know He has promised to always lead me in triumph. Today lead me to cling to His strength and help. In the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen”
