  Looking Unto Jesus Day 61

Looking unto Jesus always with a gaze more and more constant, more and more confident, “changed into the same image from glory to glory.”  Thus, we await the hour when He will call us to pass from earth to heaven and from time to eternity, the promised hour, the blessed hour when at last, “we shall be like Him; for we shall see him as he is.”

May our gaze be one of adoration now and always. A two fold work is done in this gaze. The Lord is glorified by our adoration and we are being transformed into His image by the gaze. Now He is changing us from glory unto glory but also there will come a day when we shall be with Him and see that Glory that excels all others!

There will be nothing to hinder or cloud our beholding. We shall see Him as He is. What glory! At that time our hearts will be filled with a joy inexpressible. Now we cannot begin to fathom what God has prepared for us. If His blessings to us on earth are so bountiful and glorious, what will it be then? The Lord is preparing us for that day even as now we look always to Jesus Christ in worship and adoration.

“Then let our hearts be surely fixed where truest joys are found,
And let our burning, loving praise, yet more and more abound;
And, gazing on the “things not seen,” eternal in the skies,
“From glory unto glory,” O Savior, let us rise!”     Francis Havergal

We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.       II Corinthians 3:18

…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.                                       I Corinthians 2:9

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
                                                                                                                                    I John 3:2

Can We Pray?  Now and forever all hope rests in you.  I have sacrificed your blessing to often for the poor pottage of this world.  But when I see you I see glory.  What glory will it be to see you unhindered by the veil of time and tears.  I look forward to that day when your people will advance into eternity in an endless journey of joy into your glorious more and more.  Till then dear Savior as I look to you, look on me with mercy.  Amen
