Looking unto Jesus revealed by the Holy Spirit to find in constant communion with Him the cleansing of our sin-stained hearts, the illumination of our darkened spirits, the transformation of our rebellious wills. We are enabled by Him to triumph over all the attacks of the world and of the Evil One, resisting their violence through Jesus, our strength, and overcoming their subtlety by Jesus, our wisdom. We are upheld by the sympathy of Jesus, who was spared no temptation, and by the help of Jesus, who yielded to no temptation.
I cannot see the Lord Jesus or know Him unless He reveals Himself to me. Praise God He has left me the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth who testifies of Christ (John 15:26). Look at the first sentence of Monod’s paragraph above. The constant communion the Spirit brings to me does not airbrush away my sin but makes me all the more conscious of it. This is not so that I may be under condemnation but so that I may regularly feel the cleansing flow of Christ own blood; so that I may know my night of sin is ended in Him and that I may experience His transforming power day by day.
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” I Corinthians 6:9-11
Can We Pray? “Praise You dear Father for the Spirit! Thank You for the life changing Communion He gives me with the Son. Let me feel and know the witness of His release from sin and sin’s shaming patterns. May the Spirit interrupt the accusations of the enemy against me with these words, “And of such were… were… were… some of you!” I rejoice in the communion of Christ Jesus my sanctifier and my justifier. Amen”
